The Full Version
Note1
Nathan Brown
This program may be freely
distributed
See "The Full Version" for
details of how to purchase the
full registered version of
The Dark Room.
Although this program is
freeware, no part of it may be
altered, or sold for financial
gain, but PD libraries may
charge a small amount for
handling.
"Main Menu"
"Process Text 3"
These illustrations show the
steps involved in processing a
roll of film. The film spiral of
the appropriate size is shown in
this picture.
"Process Text 4"
After removing the spool of film
from the cassette, the leader is
cut from the film to leave a
straight edge.

The next stage is to feed the end
of the film into the entry
grooves of the spiral.
"Process Text 4"
This picture shows the film being
fed into the spiral by twisting
each side back and forth.

film.
"Process Text 6"
Developer should be placed in the
tank, ensuring that the
temperature is the same as
recommended. The loaded spiral is
then placed into the tank.

"Process Text 7"
This illustration shows the tank
being agitated, after the lid has
been put on, by inverting it a
few times every minute like a
cocktail shaker.
"Process Text 8"
When the developing time is up
pour out the Developer. Then pour
in the stop bath and put the top
back on. Then rock the tank
backwards and forwards in your
hand for one minute. Pour out the
solution. Then add the fix to the
tank. At the end of each minute
invert the tank twice, slowly.
Fix for the recommanded time, and
then pour the out solution.

"Light Negative Text"
The negative on the left is obviously too bright, this is due to
under developing the film. A print of this negative would result in
the picture on the right.

Note1
Photography - The Dark Room was written by myself, Nathan Brown, for a
photography module at Buckie Community High School, in Scotland. It was
commisioned by the principal teacher of Art & Design, Mr G.Mackie. Due
to critical acclaim I decided to release this demo version on the Public
Domain. The full registered version - which can be purchased from me -
is two disks in size. The program is ideal for all photographers, and is
ideal for teaching environments.
The full version has over 60 illustrations, covering all aspects of
developing your own Black & White Film.
Also I am in the midst of writing a Scientific and Strange Phenomena
disk mag in the same format and would welcome any ideas, or articles.
Note2
If you would like to buy the full verison please send a cheque or postal
order for five pounds sterling made payable to Nathan Brown to the
address below. Also if you have any ideas or articles for the
forthcoming magazine please send them to me. And if you want details on
any of my programs write to me at the same address.
For your
5 you will receive the two disk version and will be put on my
list of people who will be contacted when I have finished other software
projects. If in doubt, write. If a reply is required please include SASE
